Yes, the theory test is taken after you have begun to learn to drive.
You must apply for a provisional licence before learning to drive. The minimum age that you can apply for a provisional is 16 years and 10 months. Application form D100 (Available at the post office) must be filled in and sent to DVLA along with a signed photograph and identification
If you meet the requirements to learn to drive i.e. signed provisional, then you can book driving lessons with us. During the duration of your course you will be expected to study the highway code in order for you to gain a knowledge and understanding of what is required so you may pass your theory test.
You must take and pass your theory test BEFORE you can take your practical driving exam. Once successfully completing both exams you will be issued a pass form which will enable you to trade in your provisional licence for a full UK driving licence.
